My Husband’s Top 5 Outdoor Steam Cleaning Projects
Yes, I do steam every surface in my home with my steam cleaner – better known as my labor eliminator, peace of mind maker, environmentally friendly, indoor/outdoor power tool.
I absolutely can’t compare this to anything I’ve ever used to clean my home. It’s so user-friendly, my kids and husband spend as much time using it as I do. There have been numerous occasions that I’ve literally had to pry it out of my husbands hands. I thought I’d share some ideas about steaming stuff outside, which is where my husband really likes to put this thing to work.
These are the top 5 items he steam cleans outside.
Now matter how much grease build-up there is on the racks and the lid, steam lets you clean even the grungiest BBQ quickly and effectively. And it does it without any chemicals. Here’s how…Attach a steam nozzle with the 2″ stiff brush and a scrub bud to the end of your hose. Turn the steam on and scrub over the racks, sides and lid. Wipe excess grease with a paper towel as you go. Let the heat melt the grease and the abrasive scrub bud scrape it away. Your grill will look like new!
Gardening Tools
We all know that clean tools last longer and are more effective. This theory applies to both gardening tools and carpenters or mechanics tools. Attach the steam nozzle and the 2″ stiff brush with some soap on the bristles to the end of to your hose. Turn steam on and scrub dirt and grease off tools, especially in the hinges and grooves. Wipe excess moisture and dirt with paper towel.

WINDOWS – A steam-cleaned windshield is truly a thing of beauty! Attach the steam nozzle to the end of your hose. Turn steam on, spray windows and wipe moisture with microfiber cloth. Repeat process for interior and exterior windows.
TIRES AND RIMS – Attach the steam nozzle and soap on the end of the 1″ stiff brush to your hose. Turn the steam on and watch the grime just run onto the ground. Wipe excess dirt and water with a paper towel and discard.
Bet you didn’t know you can restore the tack on your golf clubs? Simply attach the steam nozzle, 1″ soft brush and a little bar soap to the end of your hose. Turn steam on and scrub over the handle of your golf club. This process removes the oils built up from your hands and any dirt or debris off the handle grip. It also works wonders on cleaning the heads.
How about the idea of never taking your window screens out on the lawn and hosing them off again?
Using a steamer, all you have to do is attach 1-2 extensions, the diamond brush with a cloth attached to the end of your hose. Turn steam on and go over screen as if you were vacuuming. You will be amazed at how dirty – absolutely! Steam removes the dirt, dust and cobwebs built-up on them.
